    ByWestern Carolina Rescue Ministries July 19, 2024July 19, 2024

    ByWestern Carolina Rescue Ministries March 10, 2024March 10, 2024

I came to Western Carolina Rescue Ministries to escape domestic violence. I had not planned it, but I felt led that day by the Holy Spirit to not return home. Unprepared, I had nowhere to go. Then, amazingly, I met a lady at the pharmacy who listened to my story and offered to bring me…

    Shelter Just Became Comfortable

    ByWestern Carolina Rescue Ministries February 10, 2024February 10, 2024

As we have been observing the changes in our overnight shelter demographic, the average age of the population has increased, along with a large increase in the need of oxygen and other health issues among our guests. These factors make accessing a traditional top-bunk much more difficult than it used to be, which was impacting…

    ByWestern Carolina Rescue Ministries January 31, 2024February 5, 2024

In 1988, life seemed picture-perfect for me—I was married and had a great job, a house, and a car. My reputation in the community, with family, and at work was impeccable. Little did I know, one particular day that year would become a turning point, altering the course of my life forever.  On that day,…

    Following Jesus with Intentional Love

    ByMicheal Woods January 9, 2024September 8, 2025

I recently witnessed an extraordinary occasion between my son and grandson.  As we worked in the yard, a remarkable resemblance between them struck me for the first time.  It caught me by surprise considering the close bond I’ve shared with both of my sons over the years. Despite coaching them in basketball and being intimately familiar with…
