Our Ministry operates through three core components – Rescue, Recovery, and Restoration – focusing on reaching individuals in crisis, treating them with respect and dignity, and guiding them towards healthy, productive lives.
Our Mission
Western Carolina Rescue Ministries (WCRM) exists to serve the homeless, poor, and addicted populations of Western North Carolina. As a nondenominational ministry, we meet people in crisis, focus on helping them at the point of their need, invest in their future, and help them until they can move forward.
We’re more than a shelter.
Women’s Substance Abuse Recovery Program- ABBA’s HOuse
Provides a 6-month residential recovery program for mothers and infants, with an optional 6-month transitional stay. Ultimately, Abba’s House will equip mothers with tools for a life free from substance abuse.
Men’s Shelter
Going beyond the traditional overnight shelter, the men’s program fosters personal strength and courage. Through the offered resources and community accountability, men are guided to a productive life with a personalized Joshua plan for long-term stability.

UPCOMING Events
The Light Up the Night 5K is a fundraising, glow-in-the-dark, night-time, walk or run and will be timed by Finish Well Timing.
This will be Western Carolina Rescue Ministries’ 7th annual Light Up the Night 5k race to raise funds and spread awareness of the ministry’s community impact.
This event will take place on Friday August 8, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. in Asheville’s Carrier Park, and all proceeds from this event will directly benefit WCRM.
