Congrats Graduates!
“This place taught me how to talk and how to have a relationship with God.” – Heather, Abba’s House Graduate
This month, we celebrated the graduation of four amazing women from our residential programs! Three of the women were mothers in our Abba’s House program and one graduated from the Women of Worth (W.O.W.) Program. We have been honored to watch these women grow into all God has called them to be, to discover the difference between survival and a fulfilling life, and to walk in the knowledge that they are worthy of what they are pursuing. One of our graduates was also the sister and sister-in-law of two other Abba’s House alumni, which brought forth the additional celebration of an entire family that has experienced restoration from addiction!
Every program we offer is centered around getting to love people as Christ does. This means meeting tangible needs such as meals, safe shelter, clothing, and access to medical care. We also care for an individual’s intangible needs, such as understanding and identifying past traumas, healing old wounds, and implementing disciplined schedules and healthy habits they can carry with them long after graduation. Both Abba’s House and W.O.W. offer comprehensive courses to all clients, including abuse recovery, parenting, financial literacy, and so much more.
When we see new women enter our programs, there is almost always a level of fear that accompanies them. There is a worry they won’t finish, aren’t prepared, or will encounter something too difficult to face. However, once they settle in and begin to see the love of God and their community that surrounds them, the fear quickly melts away. Whether you donate, volunteer, support through prayer, or any combination of these, you play a crucial role in making successes like this possible. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.
“God kept drawing me back and I kept coming back because God didn’t give up on me and they [Women of Worth] didn’t give up on me. Thank y’all for all your help and everything you’ve done for me. I love y’all.” – Kathleen, Women of Worth Graduate
“You see Jesus through people and you say ‘okay, this is what it’s supposed to be, not what it was’ and you have all these girls that become best friends and sisters and you have a community that for the first time in your life you can really depend on, and you know that this is your safe spot.” – Katlynn, Abba’s House Graduate
“The friendships and family I made here are priceless. I am forever grateful to Abba’s House.”
– Heather, Abba’s House Graduate
“I love all of you, and I’m so grateful to stand here today, seeing a brighter future for me and my babies than I ever have before.” – Breonna, Abba’s House Graduate
