Right Place, Right Time, Right Now!
Micheal Woods, Executive Director
You may not realize it yet, but here, right now, this is your moment. Not yesterday, not someday. Now.
Too many of us believe we’ve missed our time. We mistakenly believe that we’ve made too many mistakes or gone too far. But right now, can be your time. You are not behind. You’re not disqualified. You are not forgotten. You are standing in a season that God has already prepared for you, and He’s in it with you.
When Jesus prayed in the garden, He asked the Father to take away the cup if it were possible. Some people think He was afraid of the pain. I don’t believe that. Jesus wasn’t scared of the nails. The pain didn’t stop Him – the separation did. That cup he prayed about was filled with every ugly sin ever committed—mine, yours, the world’s. He drank it knowing that for the first time in eternity, He would be separated from the Father. That’s what broke His heart.
But He drank it. Willingly. Why? Because He knew you were worth it. He wouldn’t let sin stand between you and Him.
That means Jesus wasn’t killed by soldiers. He gave up His life willingly. No one could take it from Him. He was perfect. So, He chose the cross. Chose the shame. Chose the sacrifice—because He saw you on the other side of it.
One of the most powerful pictures of this is Barabbas—the guilty man set free so Jesus could take his place. Barabbas didn’t earn his freedom. He didn’t deserve it. He just received it. Do you know what his name means? “Son of the Father.” That’s you and me, too. Pardoned. Loved. Free – not because we’re good, but because Jesus is.
So now we stand in this season, and the question is: Will we recognize the purpose in it? Ecclesiastes 3:1 says, “To everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven.” That means you were created with purpose and for purpose. You are not an accident. Your parents didn’t make you—God did. They were instrument in His hands. He knew you before you were formed. And no circumstance can erase His calling on your life.
Here’s where many people get stuck: Relief comes, and we settle. We think, “This is better than what I had. I’ll just stay here.” But relief is not the same as purpose. If we’re not careful, we’ll pitch a tent in the middle of God’s launching pad. We’ll stop moving forward because we’re afraid to lose what little comfort we’ve gained. But there is more.
Let’s talk about David. Long before he became king, he stood before Goliath. He didn’t size up the giant. He didn’t weigh the odds. He wasn’t focused on Goliath’s strength—he was focused on God’s presence. He knew who was with him. That’s what made it his time.
You might be considering the size of your own Goliath – your struggle, your addiction, your past, your record, your failures. But I want you to consider who is standing with you instead. God has never lost. And He’s never left you. Not in your worst moment. Not in your darkest valley. Not even when you didn’t notice He was there. That’s why I say it again: It’s your time.
Don’t miss this moment by thinking small. Don’t talk yourself out of it because of who you were or what you’ve done. Don’t assume that just because you’re not in your ideal spot in life, that your life is stuck. This is a proving ground. It’s your training camp. It’s where giants fall. But faith is essential. You’ve got to believe that God can take you from exactly where you are and get you to exactly where He wants you to be.
I want to encourage you to walk in purpose. If you settle, you might miss the real thing God has for you. So, the question is: Will you believe in God’s plan. That this is your time?
God has already done His part. He’s not late. He’s not surprised by your detour. He’s not frustrated with your pace. He’s just waiting for you to believe again. To move. To trust. To walk into the season that He is preparing just for you.
Friend, stop considering the strength of your Goliath. Start remembering the strength of your God. Because if you abide in Him – if you stay close to the One who called you – you’ll always be in the right place, at the right time, all the time.
And when the giant falls, the whole camp hears it. So, let’s make some noise!
