We seek to provide Rescue, Recovery and Restoration in Jesus’ Name.
Our Ministry operates through three core components – Rescue, Recovery, and Restoration – focusing on reaching individuals in crisis, treating them with respect and dignity, and guiding them towards healthy, productive lives.
Our Mission
Western Carolina Rescue Ministries (WCRM) exists to serve the homeless, poor, and addicted populations of Western North Carolina. As a nondenominational ministry, we meet people in crisis, focus on helping them at the point of their need, invest in their future, and help them until they can move forward.
We’re more than a shelter.
Women’s Substance Abuse Recovery Program- ABBA’s HOuse
Provides a 6-month residential recovery program for mothers and infants, with an optional 6-month transitional stay. Ultimately, Abba’s House will equip mothers with tools for a life free from substance abuse.
Men’s Shelter
Going beyond the traditional overnight shelter, the men’s program fosters personal strength and courage. Through the offered resources and community accountability, men are guided to a productive life with a personalized Joshua plan for long-term stability.
We are here to change lives.
In the heart of Western North Carolina, Western Carolina Rescue Ministries has been a pillar of sanctuary and change for those battling homelessness and addiction. For over 43 years, our doors have remained open, our tables full, and our hearts ready to serve.

As we reflect on this past year, our hearts are filled with gratitude for your unwavering support. Because of your generosity and partnership, we have been honored to fulfill our mission of rescue, restoration, and recovery in Jesus’ name.
Together, we’ve witnessed the incredible transformation of men, women, and children as they’ve overcome homelessness, poverty, addiction, and hunger. Lives have been changed, hope has been restored, and God’s love has been shared—all because of you.
Your love, prayers, and support have made it possible for us to serve those in need and shine the light of Christ into their lives. We are so thankful for the role you’ve played in this ministry and look forward with anticipation to all that God will accomplish in the coming year through your continued partnership.
May God richly bless you and your loved ones as we step into a new year of service and impact together.
With heartfelt thanks,
Micheal Woods, ED and the WCRM Team

Make an Impact in your community.
‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’
At Western Carolina Rescue Ministries, we believe the words of Jesus found in Matthew 25:40, understanding that every act of kindness to the least among us is an offering to Christ Himself. Each service we provide, from a meal to a warm bed, is a testament to our commitment to serving others as if we are serving the Lord directly.
